About Analyst Signal
Analyst Signal is a data-driven platform that tracks the consensus of Wall Street analysts to identify the upside potential of S&P 500 large-cap stocks. We aggregate target prices, recommendation trends, and insider trading activities to provide actionable insights for investors.
Our system updates daily to ensure you have the latest information on market sentiment, sector rotation, and whale trades.
How to read these metrics
Target prices are forward-looking opinions—never guarantees. Prefer consensus mean/median and band context over any single headline number.
Recommendation summaries compress many firms into one label; they can lag breaking news and do not replace fundamental homework.
Figures reflect our last successful daily build; live markets move continuously—confirm execution prices with your brokerage.
How to Use This Data
- 1. Sector Heatmap: Identify which sectors have the highest average upside potential based on analyst targets.
- 2. Recommendation Trends: Look for stocks with a strong consensus of "Buy" or "Strong Buy" ratings.
- 3. Insider Sentiment: Track whether C-level executives are buying or selling their own company's stock. Consistent insider buying can be a strong bullish signal.
What We Do
Analyst Signal is an independent data-driven platform that tracks Wall Street analyst consensus target prices and recommendations for S&P 500 large-cap stocks. We aggregate analyst target prices, buy/sell recommendation trends, and insider trading activity across 11 major sectors and 110 stocks — updated daily so you always have the freshest market signal.
Data Sources
All financial data (current prices, analyst target prices, recommendation counts, P/E ratios, dividend yields, insider transactions, and upcoming earnings dates) is sourced from Yahoo Finance, a publicly available financial data provider. We do not manufacture or alter any data — we present it as-is for informational purposes.
Quotes and analyst fields are sourced from Yahoo Finance and rebuilt on a daily schedule. This site does not provide individualized investment advice—please read the disclaimer.
How It Works
Our automated system runs a daily GitHub Actions workflow that fetches the latest data from Yahoo Finance and stores it as a static JSON file. This means every page load reads from a pre-built, cached dataset — giving you near-instant load times with zero database costs. Data is typically refreshed once per day during market hours.
Independence & Objectivity
Analyst Signal is an independent service with no affiliation to any brokerage, investment bank, or financial institution. We do not receive compensation for recommending or featuring any specific stocks. All rankings and metrics shown on this site are calculated purely from publicly available analyst data.
Who we serve
Self-directed investors, students, and journalists who want a structured snapshot of Wall Street targets across major U.S. large caps—without paywalls, passwords, or brokerage ties.
Publication rhythm
Figures are rebuilt at least once daily through automation; timestamps indicate the last successful refresh. Market holidays or upstream service interruptions may occasionally delay a build.
